I wrote a blog on Global Governance recently and some kind soul cut and pasted the Liberal argument to calm our fears of Agenda 21. You know the, “move on, nothing to see here” meme. It said Agenda 21 wasn’t a treaty and we weren’t legally bound by it. Ahhhh, yes, I know. I pointed that out the first time I wrote about Agenda 21. A treaty would have to be ratified…..which would have meant public debate and it would have been passionately rejected. It said ICLEI was nothing to fear, it was just a program for clean air and water and sustainable resources. We all want clean air and water, don’t we? We all want our resources protected, don’t we? See, nothing to worry about, go back to your gardening and let us take care of things.
Let me assure you, Agenda 21 is real and being implemented through every Cabinet Department, ICLEI and the EPA. For those of you still unconvinced, just look at Santa Monica, California. There are apartment buildings going up right now that have no parking. The City Council has proposed that parking be limited in the entire area. They want to reduce commercial parking by 75%. They want grocery stores to have only 10 spaces. Think about that, 10 spaces for employees AND customers!
Do you doubt they are trying to force us our of our cars? Or that Obama is helping by causing energy prices to “skyrocket”. Remember when gas prices were high during the Bush administration? Reporters were out at gas stations asking people how they could afford to fill our cars. Liberals were demanding “windfall” taxes on oil companies. Everyone was demanding the President do something. Where are they now? They are fine with the prices now. Progressives are trying to force us on to public transportation without any viable public transportation in place. There are only buses. If you lived in Santa Monica and worked in Hollywood it would take you hours to get to work. If your children lived in the San Fernando Valley, it would take you hours and several buses to visit them. If you live a mile from the closest grocery store how will you bring home groceries? Bike? What if you are 75 and live alone?
But don’t worry. All our transportation funding is going to trains and bike lanes for the next 30 years. And these things are 30 years away. What do we do in the meantime? Have you heard citizens calling for trains and bike lanes the last 20 years? I haven’t. So why are all our cities obsessed with trains and bikes? Agenda 21. It calls for us all to be relocated into cities, into apartments along transportation corridors. No private single family homes (except for the elite). Is that what you want? Did anyone ask you what you want?
I live in a condo and personally I hate it….and I like it less everyday. I used to have a great neighbor but he bought a house and moved. Then many of the condos empty due to the housing crash were turned into section 8 housing. My new neighbors fight and bang on the walls and don’t take care of their apartment. The HOA is constantly passing rules I don’t like. I want a yard and space and no one telling me how to live. There is a new program being rolled out by HUD that mandates “very low income” minorities be moved into middle class and upper middle class neighborhoods. Bussing didn’t work so like most Liberal ideas, instead of accepting it didn’t work, they double down on it. Do you really think we’re all going to be buddies if we are forced to live together? It actually causes more divisiveness. These policies go against everything we know about psychology and sociology.
But lets look at the rest of the world. In Australia, their population is less than California’s and their landmass is greater than Europe’s yet their water and energy is being rationed. Farmers who have farmed for 40, 50 years on the same farm, dug their own wells at their own expense on their own land have recently had meters put on their water and now have to pay for it. They also have built reservoirs that catch rain water but those aren’t theirs anymore either. Their neighbors are miles away and they aren’t infringing on their neighbors water but it doesn’t matter. Australia has such a low population they have more resources than they could ever use but it is now being rationed.
Recently I heard Matt Damon was not going to “go to the bathroom” as long as people in other countries had dirty water. I don’t exactly know what he means by that, maybe that he won’t use a toilet but what stupidity. How does our having clean water prevent any other country from having it too? And why don’t they have clean water? They don’t because they don’t have electricity to pump water or filter it. Why don’t they have electricity? Because their country signed Agenda 21 and it doesn’t allow anything but solar, wind and biofuels and those are the most expensive sources of energy. They should be building dams and using natural gas and oil and coal. America gives most countries foreign aid. Why aren’t their governments using it to bring electricity to their citizens? Electricity is necessary for progress. It’s necessary for clean water. How is it our fault that isn’t happening and what does Matt Damon think he can do about it? How do we force other countries to provide clean water to their citizens?
This entire discussion about “sustainable” resources assumes progress has reached it’s limit. That there is nothing new to be discovered. No new inventions. A filter system has been developed that you can pour paint in it and what will come out is water so pure you could inject it into the body. This would end the need to ration water. Every house could recycle it’s own water. Every free market industry is constantly looking for ways to be more efficient and more economical. That’s because they make more of a profit if they do. Because of that we will find new ways to use cleaner energy more efficiently. I’m all for “alternative” energy but only if it is as abundant and cheap as fossil fuels. And I’m not for limiting energy when there is no viable alternative. Obama said wind power has increased 50% in the last few years….but wind AND solar are still less than 3% of our energy needs and will only be 4% by 2030.
Because people have been being fed propaganda for the last 20 years that we are causing Global Warming, too many think all this needs to be done. Man has no effect on climate. Al Gore’s “Inconvenient Truth” contains NINE “factual inaccuracies” (LIES), Climategate exposed the scientists whose studies this whole Global Warming nonsense was based on were manipulating data and intimidating peer publications not to publish negative peer reviews. Phil Jones, who had to resign from the IPCC over Climategate admitted there had been no “significant increase in temperature in 10 years”. Those things alone should make even true believers question the truth of man causing Global Warming. If it was true, why manipulate data and lie? If Al Gore were a Republican you can bet the media would be all over the lies in his documentary, the hypocrisy of his energy use and his selling Current TV to Al Jazeera, a BIG OIL funded organization. Do what I say, not what I do, just doesn’t cut it!
And why is regulating CO2 the ONLY solution being considered? CO2 has been as much as 16 times higher than it is now and the oceans didn’t rise and the world didn’t end. Even the IPCC (a UN funded and chosen panel) whose studies this fraud is based on admits that regulating CO2 will have little effect on the temperature. So why regulate it? It is a natural gas that is necessary for life. It’s what every living creature breaths out and plants take in. Because regulating CO2 will allow the government to regulate everything we do.
Maurice Strong, the former Secretary General of the United Nations, author of Agenda 21 said, “Current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class, involving high meat intake, use of fossil fuels, appliances, air conditioning, and suburban housing – are not sustainable.” He also said, “Isn’t the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn’t it our responsibility to bring that about?” That is the intention of Agenda 21. It IS real and it IS being implemented around the world.
