It’s morning in America. America won last night. Our system worked. The American people instinctively believed the country was going in the wrong direction and yesterday they said so. I don’t believe we elected Donald Trump as our next President as much as we rejected a Hillary Clinton Presidency.

Those who know me know I’ve not been a Trump supporter. He has said and done many things that concern me greatly. Yesterday, I didn’t vote FOR Trump, I voted AGAINST Hillary Clinton, socialism, global governance, climate change, school indoctrination, open borders, censorship, and restricting religious liberty.

Yesterday, as I drove to my polling place I was in tears as I imagined a Hillary Clinton Presidency. She said she’d pass amnesty in the first 100 days. She said she’d appoint Justices that weren’t concerned with the Constitution. She said she’d increase taxes and double down on the war on energy.

The entire time Trump was the candidate the polls told us he couldn’t win and I believed them. I couldn’t listen to the radio all day. I didn’t turn on election results until about 8:30pm because I couldn’t face another discussion on why Clinton would win. When I finally did I was stunned to see Trump was ahead and it didn’t look as if Clinton had a path to victory. I was then glued to the television. My daughters and several of my friends texted me the rest of the night with encouraging words. I watched states that we’ve been told Trump couldn’t win, go to Trump. I watched until they called the election and Trump accepted.

Mind numbingly stupid California went completely insane and legalized marijuana, approved every tax increase, banned bags (MORONS!!) and passed even stronger gun laws…..but that’s another discussion.

I must say, I thought Trump’s acceptance speech was humble and gracious. It was a uniting speech. He told his opponents he wanted their help and advice. Contrast that to what Obama told his opponents. He told them he won, they lost and he didn’t need their input, nor did he seek it during his two terms.

One of the first things President Trump must do is appoint a Supreme Court Justice to replace Antonin Scalia. Who he appoints will tell us if he will honor the promises he has made to us.

My hope is that we can now accept that Conservatives who voiced rational concerns about Trump based on things he has said and done in the past are not our enemies. My hope is that we can forgive our friends we disagreed with. Remember Reagan said, “The person who agrees with you 80 percent of the time is a friend and an ally – not a 20 percent traitor.”

I pray for America, I pray Trump will be everything the Trump supporters believe he will be. GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Have we really changed that much? I doubt it. I believe we’re being bullied into going along. For the last four years we’ve been called names, mocked and demonized for believing in morality and the Constitution and understanding one can’t stand without the other. I think many are just tired of the bullying and would rather go along to get along. But I also think the polls don’t tell the story. I think because of the bullying people are reluctant to say what they really think. I don’t think people have changed their minds. Many have just been mocked and bullied into silence. And this we can tolerate for 4 more years.

  2. No, we haven’t changed that much, as this election, 2010, and 2012 proved. However, if Hillary had been elected we would have, due to open borders and refugees. And she would have continued to tell them not to assimilate.

Conservatives are the ones who have been bullied by the Left, the Media and academia. I don’t know why you think that will continue now. Look at what happened the last few days, teachers LED the kids to protest instead of explaining how our system works and calming their fears with objective explainations about how unlikely deportation was. One young lady said she was bullied into protesting when she didn’t want to.

I’m stunned that any American would want a “fundamental transformation of America”. America, the greatest, richest, most powerful country in the world. We may not be perfect, but even our poorest live better than the poor in other countries. This is the country people risk their lives to come to…..and why? For their chance at the “American Dream”. Immigrants have come to this country with not a cent in their pocket, worked hard and become millionaires. That was always possible here but if this administration has it’s way, it no longer will be. And now, we want to block their entry? Doesn’t add up!

  3. No one is stoping LEGAL immigration. Where did you get the idea Trump would stop all immigration? He never said any such thing. Why don’t Liberals GET that. Your understanding of our immigration policies is sorely lacking. Before 1965, we brought in people that would benefit the country. These were people who wanted to be American, not to change America. We had strict immigration policy. These immigrants couldn’t be a burden on society. They had to work, they couldn’t get welfare. They had to have sponsors who promised to support them if they couldn’t work.

We had NO immigration from 1928 to 1965 when Ted Kennedy changed our immigration policy to bringing in people from third world countries to do the “Jobs Americans didn’t want to do”. They were mostly poor and uneducated. And we had secure borders then. For agricultural work, farmers sent buses to Mexico and brought up farm workers, put them up in bunk houses, feed and paid them and took them back to Mexico when the season was over.

What don’t you understand about the difference between LEGAL and ILLEGAL immigration? Do you have a fence around your house? Do you lock your door? Have you seen what illegal immigration has done to California? It turned CA into a one party state. We have more people on welfare than working. We spend $24 BILLION a year supporting illegal aliens. You DO know, don’t you, that criminals, violent gang members and terrorists cross our open borders, don’t you? Why is that OK with you? If you want to deny your children a secure future in favor of supporting illegal aliens, have at it. I will continue to support secure borders.

BTW, since Obama, America isn’t even in the top five richest countries in the world. We can’t afford to support every poor person who wants to come here.

  4. You are stunned any American would want to “fundamentally transform” America?? Have you forgotten that’s what Obama promised to do? He not only left the borders open, he encouraged illegal immigration and by his second term it turned California into a Hispanic majority, one party state. Wanting more of that is what “doesn’t add up”.
